A Glimmer of Hope

This morning my laptop and Iphone seem to be having communication problems. Only one old folder of photos is showing up when I transfer photos to the laptop. So to get around it, I emailed the photos I wanted on my Iphone over to myself. Took it a while to move three over, but once opened I could adjust size to fit into my blog. So, skinning cats today.

It has been an amazing week here in the US. And because of the overwhelming repudiation of what the republicans have supported these past ten years, we are on our way to some common sense legislation. Thank you very much.

Of course I had to do one more artwork for the garage gallery. No more room for more, so I would love this to be the last one I need to do. It seemed a perfect farewell artwork.

The night before the vote here I was at a neighbors house for drinks. Her paintings of trump looking over my shoulder as I sipped her husband’s scotch made me feel even more hopeless than before. The two of them are quite pleasant people. And she in particular gives a very nice hug. I stayed for an hour before bringing my sadness back home. On Tuesday it was off to bed early, expecting little from my fellow Americans. Then woke to my first sense of hope since Obama.

But I am not so dumb as to think this can’t happen again. Especially with so many “despicables” still being elevated to high offices in the gaudily-decorated white house. Please let the accountability begin with the fresh scrutiny it deserves.

More news about art inspired by words next week. Right now I just need to wallow for a bit in this renewal of old feelings.

Til then….
